THE EXPERIENCE

Content delivery inside a fast-moving retail experience.

Vision Direct is an online eye-care retailer whose customer experience revolves around quick product discovery, straightforward reordering and dependable delivery. The wider platform supports the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain, while Lensbest represents the German market. Across those markets, the storefront combines a large contact-lens catalogue with supporting eye-care content, customer-service information and promotional messaging.

My contribution sat within that broader commerce ecosystem: maintaining and publishing CMS-managed experiences, implementing frontend changes, supporting promotional and static content, and working within shared platform patterns instead of treating each page as a standalone build.

TECHNICAL APPROACH

CoreMedia CMS

Structured content and reusable page components supported editorial publishing without hard-coding routine campaign and information updates.

GraphQL / content delivery

Content relationships and platform data could be inspected and consumed through GraphQL-oriented workflows used by the frontend stack.

Frontend implementation

HTML, CSS and JavaScript work supported responsive presentation, layout variants and production fixes across customer-facing pages.

Commerce-aware publishing

Changes had to coexist with catalogue, ordering and customer-service journeys, so CMS work was delivered with the surrounding ecommerce experience in mind.

DELIVERY

Publishing that supports speed, clarity and trust.

The brand emphasizes a fast and hassle-free customer journey, from finding the right lenses to ordering and receiving them. That makes clarity in content and consistency in frontend presentation especially important: promotions, supporting information and page structures all need to reinforce the shopping flow rather than compete with it.

Working in that environment meant balancing editorial requirements with established components, release processes and technical constraints, while coordinating changes across a wider international delivery setup.
